Itinerary

Upon arrival at the Katunayaka airport, you will be greeted and met by one of our friendly chauffer guides. You will then be transferred to a luxury hotel in Colombo where you will refresh and relax.

Based on your flight arrival time you may do a brief tour of Colombo – The Commercial Capital of Sri Lanka.

Whether your interest lies in grabbing a bargain and shopping or visiting the cultural and historical sites, Colombo offers a wide range of experiences.

After breakfast, we will leave Colombo and visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Some highlights of the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage include witnessing herds of elephants making their way down to the river for their daily bath and feeding of baby elephants.

Next proceed to Kandalama and check–in to the luxury "Heritance Kandalama" (A hotel delicately embedded between two rocks to protect the natural ecosystem and environment). Enjoy a dip at the infinity pool,enjoy the breathtaking scenery and natural surroundings.

After breakfast we will leave for Sigiriya built by King Kashyapa (477–495 AD). An UNSECO World Heritage listed site. Next proceed to hotel and relax. In the evening we will depart to visit Polonnaruwa, Sri lanka’s second ancient capital between 11th and 13th Century. It was built alongside an artificial lake, Polonnaruwa has well preserved ruins of palaces, bath pools, architecture and statues of Lord Buddha. Sophisticated irrigation structures and civilisations are evident from the remains of the site. One of the many highlights of the site are the 4 large rock cut Buddha’s statutes depicting the four significant poses of Buddha. At completion proceed to the hotel.

After breakfast we will depart for Kandy. En–route we will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. It is listed as a world Heritage Site and considered to hold the most breathtaking masterpieces of Buddhist Art in Sri Lanka.

Next we will proceed to Kandy the gateway to Sri Lanka’s beautiful Hill Country. Check–in to your luxury hotel and relax.

In the evening we will visit Dalada Maligawa (home to the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha). You will also experience the bustling city of Kandy. Kandy is the last kingdom of Sri Lanka and is also an UNESCO World Heritage listed site.

After breakfast we will leave for Nuwara Eliya. You will notice as we drive through the Hill Country the temperature becomes much cooler and the air is crisp. You will also witness the never ending luscious green tea plantations and the beautiful waterfalls. En-route we will visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Here you will observe the process of manufacturing tea. You can also witness how tea is graded and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Nuwara Eliya is about 2000m above sea level.

You will arrive at a unique hotel surrounded by tea plantations, an ex-tea factory transformed into a hotel. A true colonial experience!

After breakfast we will leave for Yala via Ella. The view from Ella Gap is a spectacular scenic sight– the landscape falls ways in a dizzy drop of 3000ft to the eastern plains.

Proceed to Yala and check–in to the hotel. Chaaya Wild is a newly refurbished hotel is set amongst 10 acres of jungle and it is a true nature retreat. Check–in to the hotel and relax.

After breakfast we will leave for an exciting wildlife jeep Safari at the Yala National Park. Yala National Park is about 1,260 sq. Km in size and is the largest National Park in Sri Lanka. It has a picturesque scenic ocean frontage and it is vegetation ranges from open parkland to dense jungle. The highlight of Yala is the large herd of elephants. Yala West Park is the best location to observe and photograph leopards. There are estimated to be about 35 leopards in the park. It is also home to a large variety of water birds, sloth bear, spotted deer, barking deer, mouse deer, toque monkey, mongoose and crocodiles.

After breakfast we will drive along the beautiful south coast and arrive at another luxury hotel by the beach. Pamper yourself with a massage, relax by the pool.
